Highest 2 Lowest is an upcoming American crime thriller film directed by Spike Lee.
It is an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 Japanese film High and Low, itself loosely based on the 1959 novel King's Ransom by Ed McBain (Evan Hunter).
The film stars Denzel Washington, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jeffrey Wright, Ice Spice, and ASAP Rocky.
Spike Lee received the original script by Alan Fox prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and was involved with rewriting it after Denzel Washington became attached to star.
