Hillview-Adeytown

Around 1865, Edward, Israel, and Pasco Adey came to Lee Bight (later Adeytown), from Hants Harbour with the intention of logging.

The first (Methodist) school in Lee Bight was reported in 1883 with 16 students taught by a Miss Mary Mayo.

By 1911 Adeytown had 2 sawmills and a church along with the school shared with Caplin Cove and about 30 people were living there for the 1911 Census.

[4] In the mid-1800s, James Stoyles and David Benson arrived to Northern Bight (later Hillview) from Grates Cove.

[4] In the 1950s, the Labrador fishery and local sawmilling no longer contributed to Hillview, though proximity to Clarenville provided employment opportunities.
