Hubert Staines (November 23, 1893[1] – September 26, 1970[2]) was an English-born educator and political figure in Saskatchewan.
He was born in Essex, the son of William Staines and Sarah Mary Olstead,[1] and came to Canada in 1913.
[1] Before entering provincial politics, Staines was a history teacher at Prince Albert Collegiate.
He was elected to the provincial assembly in a 1941 by-election[2] held following the death of A. Jules Marion.
After retiring from the legislature, he continued to serve as adviser to provincial Liberal Party leaders.
