The brand was founded in November 2001 by brothers Gabriel and Rodolfo Riva Palacio Alatriste, Carlos Zepeda Chehaibar, and Rodolfo Riva Palacio Velascoas, as an internet website dedicated to animation, originally called 'La Comunidad Huevo' (Spanish for 'The Egg Community').
