Hulodes caranea is a species of moth of the family Erebidae first described by Pieter Cramer in 1780.

Hindwings with crenulate outer margin and produced to a point at vein 4.

Forewings with traces of antemedial and postmedial waved lines and brown centered ochreous lunule at end of cell.

[3] Larva olive greenish in color with fuscous speckles and paler below.

Dorsal and lateral bands of black streaks and greenish white blotches found on back and sides.
