[2] It is based upon a photographic novel by Timothy O'Grady and Steve Pyke, which concerns the Irish experience of emigration and exile.
O'Grady lived for some time in the west of Ireland and was interested in the stories of Irish immigrants.
He is lying in bed at night in the darkness remembering a life of dislocation, of loss, of descent into madness and of redemption through music and through the love of a woman.
The film has an unusual appearance, composed almost completely of images of memories, twisted and distorted to various degrees.
The music for the film was composed by Irish sean-nós singer and member of Afro Celt Sound System, Iarla Ó Lionáird.
