Ian Smith (rugby league)

Ian Smith (born 7 December 1965) is a former Super League referee.

[2] Smith was born in Oldham, Lancashire, England.

His first Super League game was the London Broncos versus the Salford City Reds on 7 August 1999.

In 2008, Ian Smith famously sent off Gareth Hock for manhandling him.

Hock was suspended 5 matches and missed the rest of 2008's Super League XIII season.
