It is chartered by the government of Sindh and ranked with the top most category "W" by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).

[3] The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programmes in engineering, film TV, business administration, DPT, and art & design disciplines.

[5] Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) aims to strengthen the higher education sector of Pakistan by setting up an exemplary Quality Assurance mechanism that shall be congruent with the national and international practices.

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has been established at Indus University in the year 2010.

It started functioning under the supervision of Muhammad Ahmed Amin, Vice Chancellor of Indus University.
