[2] The Toettcher family established International Community School (ICS)[3] in 1979.

Since then the school has broadened its scope to offer a full curriculum for children between three and 18 years old.

These included values such as freedom, internationalism, democracy, respect and the rule of law and they are still part of the ICS philosophy today.

[4] Consisting of three age-targeted stages, this international curriculum takes a holistic approach to education, fostering intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills.

[6] The group was purchased by Providence Equity Partners that same year and is now known as Globeducate.
