Irlo Overstreet Bronson Sr. (August 3, 1900 – March 3, 1973) was an American Democratic politician, rancher and land owner in the state of Florida.

[5][6] He was a member of the Pork Chop Gang, a group of legislators from rural areas that dominated the state legislature due to malapportionment and used their power to engage in McCarthyist tactics.

[2] Though his family had thought he had given away the land for virtually nothing, it was said that Bronson envisioned "a future that included better career opportunities and incentives for young people to stay.

[6] His son, Irlo "Bud" Bronson Jr. served originally as a Democrat, later as a Republican, Florida State Representative from District 79, having been initially elected in 1982.
