Ironton, Wisconsin

Ironton is a village in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Little Baraboo River.

Like the Town of Ironton, the village was named for deposits of iron ore in the area.

The racial makeup of the village was 95.7% White, 0.4% African American, and 4.0% from two or more races.

16.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

The racial makeup of the village was 97.60% White and 2.40% Black or African American.

About 15.2% of families and 10.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.4% of those under the age of eighteen and 31.8% of those 65 or over.
