Isaya Mwita Charles (born 28 February 1974) is a Tanzanian politician currently serving as the Mayor of Dar es Salaam, a role he has held since 2016.

[2] Isaya Mwita Charles was born on 28 February 1974 in Tarime District, Mara, which was then part of the Musoma Region.

Before entering politics, he worked as an economist for the Temeke Municipal Council and also ran a printing company in Kariakoo.

[3] Isaya Mwita Charles is the Lord Mayor of Dar es Salaam in the United Republic of Tanzania and a member of the CHADEMA party.

[5] He said of his job, "I find it very useful to connect with other cities across the world and exchange ideas on how best to deal with climate change related issues..."[2] He wants to decrease the problem of traffic jams, creating the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit).
