In 2022, he became the first man to win a bronze medal in a solo male artistic swimming event at a LEN European Aquatics Championships, winning the bronze medal in the solo technical routine at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships.

[3][4] On the second day of competition, 12 August, Martinović scored 58.8834 points in the final of the first solo male event, the solo technical routine, and won the bronze medal, which made him the first male artistic swimmer to win a bronze medal in a solo event at a LEN European Aquatics Championships.
