John James "Jack" Caulfield (March 12, 1929 – June 17, 2012)[1] was an American security operative and law enforcement officer.
At one point, Caulfield suggested firebombing the Brookings Institution, a think tank critical of Nixon.
[3] In 1972, Caulfield was appointed as assistant director of criminal enforcement at the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Caulfield testified before the United States Senate Watergate Committee but avoided prosecution.
Caulfield died in 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida, survived by his wife, three sons, and nine grandchildren.
