He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and was selected by the Colts in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.

[5] Like his father, Mewhort attended St. John's Jesuit High School[1] where in 2009 he was ranked the 212th overall recruiting prospect and the second best center in the nation.
