Jackie Smith (sociologist)

Jackie Smith (born April 3, 1968) is an American sociologist.

She specializes in Political economy and Transnational organization social movements.

Smith currently serves as editor of the Journal of World-Systems Research, an official journal of the American Sociological Association and published by the University Library System, University of Pittsburgh.

[1] She is a leading advocate for building the Human Rights City worldwide movement.

In 2005, she became an Associate Professor of Sociology and Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame and a faculty member at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies.
