[2] White attended San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California.
[5][6] White joined Louisiana State University in 1980[7] where she averaged 13.1 points and team leading 4.5 assists.
After becoming academically ineligible for the following season due to poor grades,[8] she joined Cal Poly Pomona in the NCAA Division II.
Wanting to finish her career in Division I, she transferred to Cal State Long Beach and redshirted the 1983–1984 season.
After her college career, she worked in the Chino state youth correctional facility for 28 years until her retirement in 2013.
