Jacob Rice (New York politician)

Jacob Rice (March 7, 1847 Trier, Rhine Province, Kingdom of Prussia – July 1930 Kingston, Ulster County, New York) was an American politician from New York.

The family emigrated to United States in 1849, and settled four years later in Rondout, New York.

After the war, he engaged in the manufacture of furniture, and later in freight forwarding, contracting, and boat building.

In 1877, he married Sophie Derrenbacher (died 1941), and they had ten children.

He died in July 1930 at his home in Kingston, New York, and was buried at the St. Peter's Cemetery there.
