Jacquelyn Mattfeld

Jacquelyn Anderson Mattfeld (October 5, 1925 – December 28, 2023) was an American musicologist and academic administrator.

Born in Baltimore, she studied at the Peabody Conservatory and Goucher College before completing her PhD at the Yale School of Music in 1959.

[2] However, she was unable to find an academic appointment, instead teaching piano privately, until she was hired as associate director of financial aid at Radcliffe College.

[5] Mattfeld was hired at Barnard in large part to respond to the college's continuing financial problems, owing to her reputation as a budgetary expert.
