His wards include the three Indian boxers who have qualified for the quarterfinals at Beijing, viz., Akhil Kumar, Jitender Kumar and lastly Vijender Singh, who eventually won a bronze medal at Beijing Olympics, India's first Boxing medal in the Olympic Games.
