He was an Assistant United States Attorney of the Northern District of Illinois from 1971 to 1973.
He was an Administrative Law Judge for the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Social Security Administration from 1973 to 1980, and for the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission from 1980 to 1982.
Alesia was confirmed by the United States Senate on May 19, 1987, and received his commission on May 20, 1987.
[3] He assumed senior status due to a certified disability on February 1, 1998, serving in that capacity until his death of a heart attack, in Chicago.
