James E. Meeks

[1] Meeks earned his bachelor's degree from the Oberlin College.

[1] Meeks began his legal career as a clerk for Judge Carl McGowan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

[2] In 1978, the Ohio State University Board of Trustees named Meeks the fifteenth dean of the Moritz College of Law.

During his tenure between 1978 and 1985, Meeks also served as special assistant to the president of the university – Legal Affairs.

He authored Antitrust Concerns in the Modern Public Utility Environment (National Regulatory Research Institute 1996) and co-authored with George C. Christie, Cases and Materials on the Law of Torts (West 1990).
