He was minister of Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh from 1905 to 1919 and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1918.
[2] He returned to Scotland in 1905 to take on the prestigious role of minister of New Greyfriars Kirk.
In later life he lived at 13 Dryden Place off Leith Walk in north Edinburgh.
The grave lies against the south wall of the first north extension, backing onto the original cemetery.
A plaque to Ogilvie was erected in St Giles Cathedral in central Edinburgh.
