James Peter Allen

James Peter Allen (born 1945) is an American Egyptologist, specializing in language and religion.

[1][2] In 2007, he became the Charles Edwin Wilbour Professor of Egyptology at Brown University.

A graduate of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, he received his PhD from the University of Chicago.

[citation needed] Allen formerly served as President of the International Association of Egyptologists,[4] and was later appointed an honorary member.
