James Strong (U.S. politician)

James Strong (October 6, 1783 – August 8, 1847) was a United States representative from New York.

[3] He served in local offices, including member of the Columbia County Board of Supervisors,[4] alderman for the city of Hudson, and the judicial position of master in chancery.

[5] He also served in the New York Militia as judge advocate of the 12th Brigade.

In 1824 Strong received the honorary degree of Master of Arts from the University of Vermont.

He later relocated to New York City, and he died in Chester, New Jersey on August 8, 1847.
