Jane Tolerton

Jane Tolerton ONZM CF (born 24 April 1957) is a New Zealand biographer, journalist and historian.

[1] Tolerton was born in Auckland and attended the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, completing a Bachelor of Arts in history and American studies and a Diploma in Journalism.

[2] After graduating, she worked as a newspaper reporter and magazine feature writer, winning the Dulux News Award and the Cowan Prize for historical journalism.

[5] The following year, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to the United Kingdom to gather further information for the same project.

[5] In the 2016 New Year Honours, Tolerton was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to historical research.
