Jangi (dance)

Jangi (Azerbaijani: Cəngi) is a national male dance of Azerbaijan.

In translation from Azerbaijani language, with the word being derived through Persian,[1][2] Jangi means “fighting”.

It's a reminder of the Azerbaijani struggle of strong men and was performed in honour of them.

The dance is performed only for men, in holidays or concerts.

Traditional Azerbaijani costumes are used by the male includes a colourful long jacket, a trouser, and pair of shoes.
