Jantje Friese (born 1977) is a German film producer and screenwriter known for co-creating the Netflix series Dark (2017–2020) and 1899 (2022) with her creative and romantic partner Baran bo Odar.
[1] Jantje Friese studied production and media management at the University of Television and Film Munich.
In 2010 she was the production manager of the feature film The Silence with her partner Baran bo Odar.
Instead, Friese and Odar jointly developed the first German Netflix series, Dark, which premiered on 1 December 2017.
[3] In 2018, Friese was honored with a Grimme-Preis, Germany's most prestigious television award, for her writing on Dark season 1.
