Jasmin Salihović

Jasmin Salihović (born 18 February 1980) is a Bosnian retired middle-distance runner who specialized in the 800 metres.

In 1992, at the age of 12 he and his family took refuge in Macedonia from the ensuing Bosnian War.

Many years after his athletic career, he would come back to live happily in Skelani.

In the men's 800-metre at the 2003 World Championships in Athletics, Salihović recorded a personal-best time of 1:48.10.

A year later, Salihović became the first Bosnian after the breakup of Yugoslavia to run a middle-distance race at the Olympics when he ran in the third heat of the men's 800 metres at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
