He is the founder and CEO of Focus Media, "a multi-platform digital media company that operates out-of-home advertising network using audiovisual digital displays".
In 2005 his company went public on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, and achieved a market capitalization of US$3.6 billion as of 2011.

Jiang was chosen by the Television and Newspaper Committees of the China Advertising Commission as "contemporary outstanding advertising media personalities" in September 2003.
