Since 2008 South African households and industry endure rolling blackouts due to a severe lack of generating capacity.

These incentives led to South Africa having the highest growth in clean energy investment in the world in 2012.

This consortium was awarded preferred bidder status in May 2012 by the South Africa Department of Energy.
