Javier Díaz (swimmer)

Javier Díaz González (born September 13, 1979) is a Mexican former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and individual medley events.

[1] He is a two-time Olympian (2000 and 2004), and a former Mexican record holder in the 50, 100, and 200 m freestyle.

[2][3] At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Diaz teamed up with Joshua Ilika Brenner, Alejandro Siqueiros, and Leonardo Salinas Saldana in the men's 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.

[6][7] Shortly after his second Olympics, Diaz retired from swimming to work as a sports analyst for Televisa Deportes Network.

He also became a network's swimming commentator for the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, and eventually, for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
