His father wanted him to attend LeMoyne-Owen and he was close to signing before he received an offer from Motlow State Community College.
He averaged 15.6 points and 8.4 assists per game and was named the MVP of the Tennessee Junior and Community College Athletic Association.
Following the end of the season Hamlet committed to continue his college career at North Texas over offers from SMU, Arkansas, Gonzaga, Temple, St. John's and Loyola (Illinois).
[7] On August 26, 2021, Hamlet signed his first professional contract with Bnei Herzliya of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
[10] Hamlet played 19 games for Hefei Storm in 2023 National Basketball League (NBL) season.
