From 1782 to 1798, during the Ancien Régime, he served as an Advisor in the Parlement of Aix-en-Provence, a position he had inherited from his father.
[1] He was also in charge of taking care of children who had been orphaned as a result of the French Revolution.
[1] He became a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1814, and finally an Officer in 1821, for his public service.
