However, after working in Yemen, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Pakistan following her residency, she chose to spend her career advocating for mothers and their babies in lower-middle-income countries.
[4] Following her international studies, Chamberlain Froese joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University in 1996 as an assistant professor.
[6] The non-profit also runs the Mother Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative to improve the safety of labour rooms, equipment, and quality of care.
[7] In 2009, Chamberlain Froese was named the recipient of the Teasdale-Corti Humanitarian Award as a Canadian physician "who goes beyond the accepted norms of routine practice to exemplify altruism and integrity, courage and perseverance in the alleviation of human suffering.
"[8] As a result of her efforts to "advance maternal health, notably through the creation of an academic program based in Uganda that promotes safe motherhood," Chamberlain Froese was named a Members of the Order of Canada in 2014.
