Jennie Hart Sibley (1846–1917) was a prominent figure in the state of Georgia, holding leadership roles within various organizations, particularly in the American temperance movement.
[1][2] Sarah Virginia (nickname, "Jennie") Hart was born at Augusta, Georgia, October 21, 1846.
[1] The mother, Maria Virginia (Collier) Hart (1818–1890),[4] organized the first Sunday school in Greene County, Georgia in 1841 and personally conducted it for a long time.
At the close of the civil war, the father, William Thomas Hart (1840–1901),[4] established a wayside home at Union Point, Georgia where over 50,000 meals were freely served to hungry soldiers of both the Confederate States Army and Union Army.
