Playing for the Louisville Cardinals football team from 1995 to 1998, he earned All-Conference USA honors.
He started as a true freshman in 1995 and played four years for the Louisville Cardinals football team, ending his collegiate career in 1998.
As a senior, he was a member of the 1998 Louisville Cardinals football team that went 7–5 and earned a trip to the Motor City Bowl, capping the biggest turnaround in college football that year, rebounding from a 1–10 record in 1997.
Borseth is the career punting leader for Louisville and Conference USA.
