She taught for many years, at Dawson College in Westmount, Quebec,[1] moving in the late 1980s to Camosun College in Victoria, British Columbia.
[1][2] At Camosun, she taught mathematics mainly to young women aiming to become elementary school teachers.
Her own teaching had the goal of changing these students' attitude about mathematics from fear to enthusiasm.

[8] Britton was the 2008–2009 winner of the Teaching Excellence Award of the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.
