James Raburn Sanders (September 3, 1902 – December 1975)[1] was a successful minor league baseball player and manager.
In 1935, he was given the title of United States minor league baseball batting champion for the year of 1934.
He collected 2,150 hits – 405 of which were doubles, 151 of which were triples and 101 of which were home runs.
In 1934, Sanders led all of the minor leagues with a .423 average.
He managed the Martinsville Manufacturers in 1934 and 1936, the Jacksonville Jax in 1935, the Daytona Beach Islanders in 1937 and 1938[4] and the New Iberia Cardinals from 1938 to 1940.
