Joan Hu

Her research has involved pseudolikelihood, estimating functions, missing data, and varied applications of statistics.

[1] She completed her Ph.D. in 1995 at the University of Waterloo with Jerry Lawless as her doctoral advisor.

Her dissertation was Estimation from Truncated Data with Supplementary Information, with Applications to Field Reliability.

[1] Hu won the Pierre Robillard Award for 1996 for the best doctoral dissertation in statistics in Canada.

[3] In 1998, with Jerry Lawless and Kazuyuki Suzuki, she won the Frank Wilcoxon Prize.
