Joe "Bebop" Carroll (November 25, 1919 – February 1, 1981)[1] was an American jazz vocalist who worked with Dizzy Gillespie between 1949 and 1953.
His collaborations with Gillespie include the humorous songs "Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac" and "Oo Bla Dee."
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States,[1] he was born Joseph Paul Taylor.
[2] The band broke up a year later, but Carroll continued in a small group formed by Gillespie.
[2] In 1953, he left Gillespie and pursued a solo career, recording albums for Epic in the 1950s.
