Joe Kopapa

Joseph Kifau Kopapa (born Sinei, Tufi district, Oro Province, 9 September 1947) is a retired Papuan New Guinean Anglican bishop.

He was Bishop of the Diocese of Popondota, from 2006 to 2010, and Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea, from 2010 to 2012, when he resigned.

Kopapa did a course of Theological Training at St Stephen's House, in Oxford, England, from 1987 to 1989, when he was awarded a GME.

[1] He was elected Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea at the Provincial Council Meeting, in Port Moresby, on 11 June 2010.

Before the primatial election, it was decided that the new primate would have no diocesan responsibility and would solely take on a national role.
