Johanna Tecklenborg

She was a pupil of Theodor Her [de] and painted mainly landscape and still life, with which she made a name for herself.

She taught at the Münchner Künstlerinnenverein [de] and was for a time the head of the association.

[2] Her career as an artist is typical for a daughter from a "middle-class" home in Bremerhaven.

[1] The Kunstmuseum Bremerhaven [de], newly founded in 1886, presented works by Tecklenborg in its first exhibition in the same year.

[1] She worked for many decades promoting the Renten- und Pensionsanstalt für deutsche bildende Künstler and helped the organisation to continuously increase its membership.
