A native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Anderson was selected as the Packers' most valuable defensive player three consecutive years.
Anderson was named a second-team player on the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team and was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1996.
[1] Anderson enrolled at the University of Michigan in 1974 and played college football for head coach Bo Schembechler's Wolverines teams from 1974 to 1977.
