Sir John Christopher Calthorpe Blofeld DL (born 11 July 1932) is an English barrister and former High Court judge.
His father was at Eton with Ian Fleming and his surname is believed to have been the inspiration for the name of James Bond supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Freddie Calthorpe and not his nephew as previously suggested; his son is Tom Blofeld.
[2] Blofeld played cricket for Norfolk against the Kent Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship in 1957.
