John Carson is a state senator from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, U.S. Carson, a Republican, represents Colorado's 30th Senate district, which includes much of northern Douglas County, including the communities of Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Roxborough Park, and Meridian.
Following his work in Washington, he returned to Colorado to serve as the Rocky Mountain Regional Director of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
[2][3] From 1979 to 1985, Carson served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
Sworn in in January 2015, he served a single six-year term, representing the 6th district.
