John DeLancey Ferguson (November 13, 1888 – August 13, 1966) was a writer and academic.
[3] Ferguson was a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, a member of the Modern Language Association, and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Ferguson is considered to be one of the foremost scholars of the life and work of Robert Burns.
[4][5] He was appointed as an honorary member of the Irvine Burns Club in 1962.
[3] Ferguson died in 1966 in Connecticut after living with Parkinson's disease.
