John Godfrey Schumaker (June 27, 1826 – November 23, 1905) was an American lawyer and politician who served one term as a United States representative from New York from 1869 to 1871.
Born in Claverack, Columbia County, Schumaker completed preparatory studies in the Lenox Academy in Massachusetts.
He studied law, was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in 1847.
In 1853, he moved to Brooklyn and continued the practice of law.
He died in Brooklyn in 1905; interment was in Green-Wood Cemetery.
