He set a record in Border cricket in 1920, by scoring 1,011 runs in the season.
In fifty years of club cricket he made thirty centuries.
[1] Following success at club level, Greive was selected to play first-class cricket for Scotland in 1911, making two appearances against Ireland and the touring Indians at Glasgow and Galashiels respectively.
His brothers, William and Walter, who had also played first-class cricket for Scotland, were both killed in the war.
[3] Following the war, he made three further first-class appearances for Scotland between 1920 and 1926, playing twice against Ireland and once against Surrey.
