John Anthony Griffin[1] (born December 17, 1988) is a former American football running back.

He attended Oakmont Regional High School in Massachusetts where he just played one year on the varsity team.

He played his first three seasons at Northeastern and was named to the 2009 CAA First-team before transferring to the University of Massachusetts.

[2] He was named to the 2010 CAA Third-team and was a FCS Senior Bowl Preseason All-American while at the university of Massachusetts.

[10] On August 9, 2013, in the Jets' first preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Griffin suffered a broken leg.
